First Time Visiting A Chiropractor

What to expect for your first time visiting a chiropractor

IS IT YOUR FIRST TIME VISITING A CHIROPRACTOR?

First things first, don’t worry! Every one of our patients saw their first chiropractor at some point during their life and had the same questions you have right now. The Chiropractic Center of Erie and Chiropractic Center of Longmont believes the best way to relieve stress on your first time visiting a chiropractor is to come in knowing what to expect. Once you know what to expect for your first visit, our expert team will make you feel like family from your first phone call and throughout your entire treatment process. Whether you’re visiting a chiropractor for the first time, or you’re visiting a new chiropractor for the first time, we’ll let you know what to expect.

Initial phone conversation

The Chiropractic Center of Erie and Chiropractic Center of Longmont train their receptionist staff to listen and ask the right questions during your very first phone call. Our doctors want to understand your needs and previous treatment methods that have been tried to resolve your issue. We use this information to help point us in the right direction even before your first visit. Our receptionists will also get you scheduled at the office that’s most convenient for you whether that’s in Erie or in Longmont.

Arriving at the office

Patients arrive and check in with the receptionist at the front desk. They will confirm your appointment time and let the doctors know you’ve arrived for your new patient exam and treatment. Our receptionists focus on providing the best possible experience during your visit and are a wealth of caring and knowledge. They often answer questions about insurance, treatment options, and what to expect for your first time visiting a chiropractor.

New patient exam

All of the doctors perform the same initial new patient exam. They combine a visual, hands-on, and questionnaire approach to ensure that all bases are covered prior to providing any treatment. This new patient exam focuses on listening not only to what you’re saying, but what your body says as we observe you. This is coupled with the range of motion testing, and orthopedic, and neurological examinations. Our doctors also explain what they are doing every step of the way and why to help build a rapport. They encourage questions and welcome the opportunity to share their knowledge of how the body’s systems integrate and work together.

First chiropractic treatment

Once the new patient exam concludes, the doctor recommends a unique treatment plan for your body. Our experts gear this plan to each individual to ensure quick relief and a holistic approach to ensure we treat the issue and not just the symptoms. We offer an award-winning treatment process to help achieve your goals. This consists of chiropractic adjustments, whether hands-on or with the activator tool, dolphin neurostim, and soft tissue massage. This treatment process not only provides patients the relief they crave, but it also helps them hold adjustments, and therefore feel better, for longer.

Payment and follow-up treatments scheduled

After your first chiropractic treatment finishes, you will return to the front desk and our excellent receptionist team will process your payment for the treatment that day. Both the Chiropractic Center of Erie and the Chiropractic Center of Longmont accept the same types of insurance. We currently accept plans from AetnaUnited Health CareBlue Cross / Blue ShieldCigna, plus other plans. They will also schedule you for your next visit and advise you to drink plenty of water to aid in the removal of any toxins released from joints and soft tissues that are now moving and feeding from the tension.

If this is your first time visiting a chiropractor, your body will need the water to help it adjust to the new experience. Initially, many patients require frequent visits while their body learns to hold proper alignment. Over time, these visits become less frequent as the body naturally relearns proper alignment and holds it for longer.

ARE YOU VISITING A NEW CHIROPRACTOR IN LONGMONT OR ERIE FOR THE FIRST TIME?

Whether you’re visiting a chiropractor for the first time or you’re just visiting a new chiropractor for the first time, our process remains the same. We believe that a new patient exam provides crucial information to the patient and the doctor about the ailment and helps make treatment more effective. This process for welcoming new patients to our offices also builds a rapport with our team and helps patients feel more comfortable with their doctor. Often, patients change chiropractors because something wasn’t working correctly before. We try to identify these concerns upfront and truly focus on listening to the patient’s needs rather than offering a one-size-fits-all treatment plan.
